Sorry, I searched the archives but couldn't find what i needed.
I am adding a suspension lift to my new (to me) 79 cherokee. I want to compliment it (and to clear my new tires) with a body lift. problem is, i don't need 3", which is what i read and hear most about. I have had marginal success with body lifts in the past so i want to keep it to a minimum. does anyone make a smaller body lift for FSJ's? i am thinking 1" would be enough, 2" definitely would. can someone tell me where to find such a thing?
thanks a lot

what rims/tires will you be running?
a 4" lift on with 3" bodylift will clear 33's on 8-10" rims on a N/T body.... where a W/T body can get 4" and run 35's on a 8" rim....
I will suggest you get a suspension SYSTEM... meaning all new springs rather than a kit that comes with new front springs and rear blocks.... it's worth the extra money cuz most rear springs are shot and won't be level with a block....
BTW.. welcome to the forum//// :D

If you want a small cheap body lift....buy a bunch of hockey pucks and drill a hole in them. Don;t stack them though. Only one puck per mount.

I have taken a 3" body lift on a YJ and cut it with a bandsaw (heavy duty shop type) to make it a 1.5". Went to napa and got new bolts. It worked perfect and is doing well after 5 years. If yo can find a cheap 2-3" body lift and cut it down two 1-2". Day star makes a poly body lift that replaces the bushings as well. I dont know if they make it for FSJ's but its worth a check.

BTW.. welcome to the forum//// :D thanks for the welcome...forgot to mention i was a newby smile.gif i went with an all spring lift. i have my 33's under there and it looks good..the lift yielded close to 4". i am running 7" rims with 10.5" wide 33s. it looks like the 33's are going to rub at the front and rear of the wheel well...if it articulates like i hope it will, even a body lift isn't going to keep me from having to trim. i was hoping to keep my sawzall off of it but it seems i have not choice. i think i will still make/buy a small body lift, to give myself a little more compression/stuff. i appreciate the input, hopefully i will be able to find a 1"-2" body lift, but if not, i will cut it down. thanks guys.
