so i cant switch between heat and defrost. i followed the vacuume feed from the heater control switch back through the firewall to find its not hooked up. were should it be connected too?

ps its a 79 cherokee with the 360 and auto stock 2v 2100 carb and there is one vacuume port on the carb coming out the passenger side which is hooked to the vacuume advance on the distributor

iirc it should be hooked to the vacume bell on the firewall.looks like a black plastic ball

are there nipples in the ball ? i tried sliding the hose in there but it doesnt stay

there is one nipple driver side - or should be - I believe

I found the nipple on the vacuume ball its hooked up to the feed for the e drive.... will putting a t in that line hurt the e drive engagement?

well i just ran a t and its fixed the defrost so all is well with that
