I recently put in a front seal in my tranny and i put the whole thing together and getting ready to drive off the lift and tranny fluid goes everywhere out of the bellhousing. I think i busted my front pump when i put the torque converter back in, not sure. Also i had tranny fluid come out of the bolt holes in the converter. Is that supposed to happen?? Does anyone know what can fix it? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Check out my finished waggy.

there is the front seal where the converter slides in to the front pump ...and there is a big o-ring that goes around the front pump ......and then there is a gasket that goes on the front pump to the trans case when you say you had trans fluid come out of the bolt holes in the front pump did you take the front pump out ?????? did you replace the o-ring and gasket ????? when you took the trans out to change seal where was the fluid comming from (wet)???????

No i had fluid come out of the Torque converter bolt holes. Im thinking i had not fully lowered the converter all the way. I just replaced the seal behind the torque converter.

I think he's talking about that he didn't slide the torque convertor back the 2" before putting it in, but I think that he might've twisted the torque convertor in a certain way and crushed the front pump main seal ( If that's the wrong name, don't kill me, the one behind the torque convertor ). Could that be his problem, Mikie?

Like the holes where the converter bolts to the flexplate?? Those don't even go through the converter housing....

the bolts that come through the flywheel to the converter. I didnt understand why tranny fluid came through them either. I turned the torque converter to lower it into the tranny, it dropped twice so i figured that was enough.

They do not penetrate the converter housing. There's no way they could leak. It must be coming from the input shaft area.

when i put it in gear it didnt move at all, tranny fluid poured out of the bell housing. It wouldnt move in any gear. It didnt make any noises either. Im gonna rebuild it, and put a new front pump and torque converter in it and see if thatll fix it.
