Ok everyone I am swapping in a 700r4 and chevy 350 into my grand wagoneer. DO any of you have any tips that might be helpful? I have done one trans swap before with a guy who had experience doing this sort of t hing but he is no longer availabe for such things. (Lost contact moved away) Anyway I Spoke with one custom shop and they menntioned that specific clearences must be kept etc or the trans wont work right and the drivetrain will vibrate. Is this true? I remember me and the guy simply getting everything in place and measuring a lot before we drilled holes in the frame for his new engine and trans while making sure that the driveshaft angle was not too sharp. Other than that it seemed that you could pretty much place the trans and engine anywhere as long as things were not too far out of proportion. (engine all the way at the radiator or anything wild.)

So do any of you have any tips that you might want to send that might help or any areas that I need to look out for or be careful of?

700r get the biggest trans cooler you can find keep clean fluid in it buy a new flex plate get a new front seal for the trans and see if you can get the little metal housing that clips on the front pump to hold the front seal in the trans make sure you adjust the tv cable at the carb for the correct shift points so you dont burn the trans up you did not say what year the trans is
