I cant figure out the friggin amp meter 2 check for power as i almost scaled it across the driveway but that wont make it work better. I cant find not 4 amp fuse 2 check and i dont have a clue where the brain is 2 the cruise control unit. I am about 2 take a cement block with me 2 put on the gas petal when i decide 2 move 1000 miles away. FRIG THE FRUSTRATION! Any suggestions?

The CC 'brain' is a yellow plastic box with two knobs on it. It should be located under the dash, held on to the firewall or thereabouts with duct tape. Is the 'lamp chain' connecting your CC to your throttle linkage complete and properly adjusted? I'm sorry, I don't know where the fuse is either. You could also check your turn signal stalk...they're known to go bad after a while.

If your cruise was working you might want to check the wires from the turn signal stalk. They are very small and can break from the movement of the turn signals.

Boy, if having a working cruise-control was a condition for keeping our GW's on the road, there'd be no more than a handful left!!! :D

I've found out my problem when I went to replace the speedo cables. The white round plastic object that they connect to was the culprit. The magnet(s) inside where either out of place or if it was one, it was broken. Hope this helps.

The brain is under the dash, about in the middle. Mine isa fairly large box, about 4 inches square. There is a bundel of wires running to it. Good Luck!
