Are brass freeze plugs good or are the steel ones better? I need to replace some that appear to be rusting badly.

Brass only... smile.gif As you have already found out, steel ones rust out. :D

Thanks, What is the best way to get the old ones out? Can I drill a hole in it and pry it out or pull it with a slide hammer?
I assume I just tap the new ones in.

Hammer them INTO the block with a hammer...then use a pair of pliers to turn and pull them out. Tap the new ones in using a socket that is close in size. Be sure and coat the edges with Permatex #2 sealer. smile.gif

Thanks Retro93, that sounds much easier than my methods.
