Battery Problem??

Why does the ground wire (batt to fender) keep burning up?...Ill try to start my wag...it will turn over slow..no start..puffs of white smoke from under the hood....melted ground wire again :mad: ...It seems like it does this every 4 to 6 months....What gives??

Check your ground wire to the block(batt to block), sounds like it is not making good contact, so it is taking the long way around, through the fender.

Had some work done on my CJ one time, a couple days later same problem
the guy forgot to hook the main engine ground back up. You have a problem
with the big gound cable that goes from the neg term to the engine, make sure
it is hooked up and if it is , remove it and clean the area where it contacts the
engine with a little sandpaper to make sure the contact is good.
