I have the Quadra-Track in my '79 Wag. I don't have anythig personal against it, I like the simplicity and strength of the D20. My question. I know that it came mated to the T400 in the early 70's, but can any of you tell me from what year to year? I believe that I will need the adaptor to go with it, right?

Yes you will need the adapter and the output shaft. It came behind the TH400 from about '66 until '79 I believe. The best thing is just to get the whole assembly, tranny and t-case, as one and slap it in. The rear axle that came with the QT is off set more than the one that came with the D20. This should not cause a problem. SOme may disagree but after talking to a couple of driveline shops they said as long as the angle at the t-case is the same angle at the axle there will be no problem.

Some of the earlier rigs had engines with different bolt patterns than the AMC 360 and won't bolt up, but you can change the output shaft in your tranny and the adapter and case will bolt up. I just did the swap in my 65. I ran the Q/trac with a rear end set up for a D20 for years without problems, so I don't thick going the other way would cause a problem (I think I just wrote this somewhere).
