I'm not sure what this stuff is, but somebody told me to get some and pour it in my gas. it works,I guess! I'm not sure what it's supposed to do, but it does seem to make the Jeep crank up faster and idle MUCH smoother.
Interesting.

It also works great in air tools! M.G.
Throwing a pint in the oil works good for freeing up sticky lifters too. As Marvin said it's a great air tool lube. We buy it in gallons for use on the boats. Our ships compressors make a LOT of water in the humid Gulf of Mexico.
MMO has been around a long time and is still great stuff.

Is there a downside to this stuff? (eternal pessimist)
Where is it available? Just throw a pint in at an oil change in lieu of oil?

it was used to provide top cylinder lub. in the 20s and 30s, you could buy a drip lube system that mtd on the fire wall. i use it to fog my lawn mowers for the winter. latest use was to thin out pow/strg oil to oil the bushings on the blower mtrs of my 528es. smells good enough to drink :D is it ok for cats?

I've used it for years and it works for the fuel and the crankcase, In fact my racing mechanic said to put the entire can in the crankcase with an oil change...it won't hurt anything.

In my opinion, there is nothing that is bad for(to) a cat.

NEVER misuse Marvel Mystery Oil on cats!
Use Prestone Anti freeze instead.

Every oil change, I use 1 qt of Marvel's with 4 qt's of 20w50. I got about 185K outta my wag motor(had 75K) when I bought it, and my subie has about 178K now and the motor never been apart. When I replaced the motor in my wag with the one from the parts wag(it had about 78K and been sitting for years) told the mechanic to add a QT of marvels prior to startup. He did, and was impressed with how well the motor ran right from the begining. He had reservations about putting the motor in without cracking it open first. He said that it is one of the strongest running motors he's seen in awhile(previous owner used marvels all the time). :D

I picked up another quart this weekend, for my next oil change. I been running some Rislone (sp?) since my last oil change hoping to possibly help my clacking lifters. This oil change I'm going down to 5W-30 and some marvel. For keeping my fuel system tip top and mitigate any water in the fuel I use Barryman B-12, take a look at the ingredients of that stuff! If that stuff can't do the job nothing else on the market will, Tolulene, Naptha etc. etc. They also make an excellent carb dip!

Hey
I don't know about the Prestone thing. Someone once tried to chill out my dog with a bowl of the stuff and it didn't work. (Thank God) Is it maybe a little mythical in its toxicity?
