I was thinkin about this the other day on the trail... Since our Jeeps already have the turning radius of a yacht, if the rear was Lincoln locked, would the turning radius be decreased drastically? I'm talking about tight turns on the trail, I already know it will hinder pavement performance. Even at low speed will the Lincoln locker inhibit my ability to turn tightly? Anybody here got experience with their Lincoln locked FSJ? Thanks. -Zach
You must have closed knuckles?
Unless compared to an open knuckle cj5, I think the openknuckle FSJs turn pert dern good. tongue.gif

It will decrease your turning radius a little not as much as a locker in your front end though.

Lincoln locked in the rear is hardly noticable in the rear. There is no substitute unless you can afford a locker.

in a "traction gained per dollar spent" aspect, ;) a lincoln locker cannot be beat. you will still be able to turn tightly, but at the expense of lots of additional stress on driveline parts. when i had a welded rear in my rig,it made me cringe to turn sharp on pavement. i could picture the axleshafts twisting up like twizzlers iside the tubes  it was a much different experinece that driving my amc eagle with a welde rear and 31x10.5s.driving it on the street with 38s and a welded diff somethin was eventually gonna let go. if i trailered it to the woods, wouldnt have been a prollem. on the trails, available traction is much less than on pavement.dirt/mud is much more fogiving smile.gif
im now running a licoln locked front, but thats a whole nother can of worms... tongue.gif
