the seat belt buzzer on my 82 Cherokee WT. I have had a problem in the past. My bu/seat belt fuse blows all the time......Well I have checked everything i can... the fuses is blown yet the seatbelt light comes on every once in a while.. the buzzer nolonger sounds the fuse still blows when a new one is installed......

I feel like my seat belt buzzer is broken or the seat belt relay or something is amiss.. If I can find this problem then all my electrical demons have been fixed....

Question: Where is the seat belt buzzer / relay on an 82 cherokee Chief?

Thanks for your help

you prolly have a pre ground (split wire to that circut ) and are shorting the fuse

I feel your pain, I have the Technical Service Manual for the 1982 Cherokee and the 1983 Supplement, and neither point out the buzzer or do a very good job of showing the electrical layout of the seat belt buzzer warning system.

And I am good with electrical issues, this '81 Cherokee electrical website URL from Tom Collins is as good as I could find on the subject matter.

Scroll down the page to the 81 wiring for a Cherokee, I believe that the wiring will be pretty much the same as the 1982 Cherokee.

i would trace the seat belt wiring under the dash and cut it....

otherwise look under the dash by the IGN switch for a loose wire

i had a constant buzz on the project... that fixed itself when i replace the IGN switch on the steering column, in fact one wire was loose....

good hunting

On my '90, the buzzer is the blue box below the fuses. Its' maybe 2 x 2.5 x 1. There are wires going to the driver's seatbelt. I bet that is a good place for a short. The buzzer is also used for the headlights on warning.

Well the Lighter got rerouted to another lead.
The seat belt wires are ground wires so there is never a charge grounding there. Plus everything is near perfect there.

My seat belt light lights up when I drive like there is a short some place even if I have my seat belt on......it flickers constantly.....However...............

The other day whilst degreasing the undercarriage After only hosing down the lower side and tranny area the light was steady on all the time... so this kinda leads me to believ that there is a short near or on the tranny? But what would that have to do with my seat belt light.. I know the reverse lights are screwed now but could that circuit cause the other circuits to go ape?
