From AMC 360 to 401 (using crankshaft)?

Possible? And if using forged 401 pistons and honing the 360 block I should get a real 401? Or are the crankshaft-bearings different from 360 and 401 block?

On boring the block, only a few special 360 blocks had thick enough cylinder walls to make a 401 and I think the factory turned most of them into 401s and put them in AMX Javelins, why? and they still have 360 on the side of the block!
