man. locking hubs

Just bought 86 grand wagoneer. It is Select-trac with man. locking hubs. Is this a proper application for a select-trac? Owner's man. says no...... Did someone probably change these hubs?

Yes, someone chanded it. It's fine as long as you don't put it in 4wd with the hubs unlocked. I switched mine out with no problems at all.

Yeah its fine, I'm going to be locking my front axle (you already have a solid axle) and putting on manual hubs
