Ease off on the skinny pedal, or get another rig. You'll find several suggestions to gain some slight improvements, but don't ever expect good fuel economy.

Is your engine running properly? I'm assuming that the install went ok, and that there's not something physically wrong with the engine that its getting poor mileage.

If you went to a hotter cam you trade off a bit of mileage for the power gain. How did you install the cam retarded, straight up or advanced(this will cost you mpg).Like AC said what shape is the rest of the motor in?If your motor is in good condition do the basics, tune up with quality parts(do TFI upgrade if you haven't already),check carb adjustments, don't carry any uneccassary weight.Don't expect any better than 13 to 14 mpg(especially if you have the York A/C compressor and like using it).

I remove the back seat for everyday diving to save some weight and add cargo space.
