another wiper problem

My wipers on my 1980 cherokee sometimes don't turn off. Sometimes they will turn off when i turn them off, but most of the time they keep going, and turn off when i turn the jeep off. any ideas?

may be the switch or may be the park on the motor, the do hickey that doesnt cut the power until the arms are against the cowl maybe the contacts are cruddy
