Hey guys, I know that Ouray is a huge get together for everyone but I just wanted to let everyone know about another awesome ride that happens every year here in Chattanooga TN. Most of you are midwest guys but I know there are some east coast boys out there reading this list. Also, mabye some of you will make the trip. It's worth it. This even is hosted by http://www.sportsintherough.com/ and sponsored this year by Skyjacker. The trails are rated from 1-5 with five being hardcore/bring a spare truck and last year I was a trail leader for a level four. It was one of the best times I've ever had and the whole experience is great. Not to mention the trails which are simply awesome. It's great east coast rockcrawling with some good ole mud if it rains. There is something for everyone. This year I'm luckily enough to be a trail leader once again and also the guy in charge of the whole even is also a fellow club member. The whole setup is going to be great. The entry fee of $68 includes all you can eat dinners both nights, raffle tickets, camping, and other stuff. Sportsintherough.com has a lot of sponsors so there is going to be a ton of great stuff to win and be won in giveways, competitions, etc. Check the website for details at http://www.sportsintherough.com/event.asp The date is listed as September 31st which is obviously wrong but it will be the last weekend in September. Anyhow, this year we are also putting together a huge mud pit with moguls, a hillclimb, rockgarden, RTI ramp, and some other cool stuff we can't talk about right now but things such as a winch tight rope walk to win a Warn winch if you complete it. We're really trying to put together a lot of fun stuff. Everything I just talked about is located at camp so after the trails you'll be right next to even more action with the mudpit and rockgarden, etc. Plus, it's open to everyone there. The other greatest thing about an event like this is all the great people you meet and trucks that you see. It's really a bonding experience and I hope to see some fellow FSJers out there with me. If anyone has any more questions feel free to e-mail me. Thanks.

There's no details on the site for the Sep 31 event. What's the deal with the May event at Monteagle vs. this event? Where's it gonna be...what trails are we talkin about?
See ya there!

Hey man, the monteagle even is gonna be held in middle tennessee near Cowan. Everyone is gonna be riding the trails there and it's typically the same kind of event. But, the September event is going to be a lot more fun with a bunch more cool stuff going on. The reason no info is up on it yet is because we're still finalizing everything. Let me know if you still want those wheels.
rj44,
Sounds cool, keep us posted on the details. What kind of camp facilities are available, the wife may tag along?
End of September? I've got 4 months to get ready to break something.

I'll keep everyone posted on the details. I know it's a ways off but if you're like me it's nice to have a sweet ride kinda far off to keep you motivated to finish all those mods in time smile.gif Anyways, I think it's gonna be one of the coolest organized rides yet. We're working really hard to change it from the typical organized where everyone rides, camps, and rides again. We're planning a bunch of crazy stuff. The camping facilities are nice, there is running water, a little convenience store, hookups for RVs, and a huge swimming pool. Not to mention the campground is about 5-10 minutes from some decent hotels that run about 40 bucks a night if you don't feel like camping. But, camping is half the fun cause we all sit around dinner and talk about the day and have some beers and then we get back in our rigs and tackle the swap and rockgarden smile.gif Last year some guy with 39.5 on an early bronco stood it up verticle coming out of the mud pit and up the hillclimb. It was great. The wheels I have for sale BTW are 15x7s. The stock Wagoneer type.

If I get everything I need to be fixed, fixed then count me in! RJ44 I used to see your rig around Chattanooga all the time, but I don't much anymore. You keep her garaged now-a-days? :D Where exactly are these trails?

Sounds good. Thats cool that you've got a SOA and everything. I used to run buckshots myself. They are sweet tires. The reason you don't see my rig running around as much anymore is mainly because I'm at college in Athens Georgia 9 months out of the year. I come home quite often to wheel and work on my truck but thats about it. When I'm in Athens the beast rests in my garage back home. Right now shes resting waiting on a new t-case, bumpers, and roll cage which is all gonna be done for the Sept ride but hopefully way before that. You need to come ride sometime with my club. Anyways, the trails we're gonna ride for the event are mainly at Aetna near Raccoon Mtn and a few others in the general area. There will be something for everyone from mud to hardcore rocks, ledges, and boulders :D

Hey Andrew, where do you live in Athens? Did you ever have the wag in town? I swear I've seen it in the parking lot of an old friends apartment off Millege in Athens. Anyway, maybe I'll see you around town one day. I am over there about once a week.

The wag used to be my daily driver and I had it here in town all the time while I was at school but once I put the 39s on it I decided it was time to get a daily driver. Anyways, my apartment is off of Milledge Ave so it's quite possible you saw it at one time or another.

Ahhh, the good ole' days of college! Rock, I'm a UGA Grad myself.....got out in June 98' (although it should have been June of 96'!). GOD! I miss Athens! Maybe one of these days we'll all meet up, and get our rigs dirty.

Man. If that does not chap your butt. I just canceled my MontEagle Round-up trip due to a trip we are going on to Canada, to see my brother. Now a better trip comes up for FSJ'ers and I have to miss it. Not that I could not make it but I would have to hock the wife and kids to pay for gas to get there while pulling a trailer. . If there is any way possible I will try.
Please keep us posted, no pun intended....

I'll be sure to keep everyone well informed :D So far, we've had quite a bit of FSJ interest in this event in September so it would be awesome if everyone turned out and made it. I hardly ever get to meet any fellow FSJ boys.
