Nobody makes lift kits for pre-74 FSJs. I was able to get some extra lift by going to hd 8 leaf front springs, but these are even starting to sag. I am going to have a thicker, longer main spring made to give me a little lift by keeping the spring more eliptical.

The easiest thing to do would be to go to a local spring shop and have them make you some custom springs. It'll probably cost $100+ per corner, though.
Good luck,

There are a lot of us in this pre-1974 boat who want or have tried to lift our vehicles. There have been some very creative solutions/ideas discussed and tried. I have a 1970 Wagoneer and spent about a month researching various suggestions. I start lifting the Wagoneer this weekend and chose to have the spring packs 1) rearched, 2) a new thicker secondary main spring added. Although a good spring shop can get you between 3”-4” of lift this way, there are other costs I did not plan for initially. Bushings should run about $9 each (there are 3 for each spring), shocks need to be replaced (longer than stock), brake lines will probably need to be extended (longer than stock), new shackle bolts ran me about $3.50 each (3 per spring) and then there is the pitman arm. I won’t know exactly how much higher this will sit till Sunday, it may require a dropped pitman arm to prevent bump steer. You can follow my lift journey through a new post called “1970 Wagoneer Lift Now”, which you have inspired me to start writing. Good Luck. tongue.gif

I was able to lift my 71 J2000 by adding the stock mainleaf to a ScoutII 3" lift pack. I discarded the ScoutII mainleaf. 3" blocks brought up the rear. The pickups are SOA F/R, but I imagine using the factory main and adding the Scout springs would work for SUA as well. The limiting factor of adding arched springs to the mainleaf is length. Adding the arch of the 3" lift springs to the stock main put my shackle 90 deg to the frame. Any more arch (such as using 4" lift ScoutII) would probably invert the shackle. I got these springs from a friend who went SOA on his Scout, but I don't no the brand. The second leaf was as long as the main, so it sits right under the spring eyes, so it worked out very well with my worn out mainleaf. ScoutII springs are the same width and almost the same length as the early FSJ springs and can be combined with the factory springs for many combinations.
Yes actually bj's offroad has came out with a lift for the pre 74's.
