Seeing as I would like to see whats behined me when reversing in the dark.....any suggestions on how/what to upgrade my pathetic reverse/back up lights too?
I'm thinking some nice halogen lamps would do the trick..
I wouldn't want to mount them on the roof, but on the rear bumper/fender somewhere...
Would this be something a dumb ol' Moose could do? Or is it get the Jeep to freindly garage time?

You could try brighter bulbs. MY stock lights are very bright and really light up the area behind me. I live in a area without street lights and can always see whats behind me. On my old motorhome I had small retangle lights that work quite well, you should be able to get a pair at any auto parts store.

Mr Moose, Welcome to the forum!! Where in Canada are you from?
Thinking about installing recessed lights right into the tailgate here, plenty of room down low.

Brighter bulbs! Now why didn't I think of that? (coz I'm a Moose)
I saw a nice looking Wagonner with spot lights mounted in the rear bumper. When I asked the guy about them he said they were "landing lights". He said if I was going to stick them on, I'd have to add a relay - something about the amps being wrong or something. Sounds like too much bother to me. I'll go with the easy solution
Crazy_Jeepman , Thanx for the welcome. I roam around that lovely town of Victoria, B.C. Not many Moose here....

Sometimes you will see in JCWhitney or places like that, a "kit" with brighter bulbs, but all they really are are light bar bulbs, like on police cars and firetrucks. A 795 bulb that goes on light bars, like the Federal Strethawk, are the same base as a 1156 bulb, but they are 50 watts. The bulbs are 7 to 10 bucks a piece. A good source is Galls.com , go to light bar parts or bulbs.
