What all would I have to change if I swap a chevy 350 for my 360 Amc.My drive line is a 72 jeep truck with a turbo 400. Would I have to change transfer case, etc. Thanks

Coach, you can use an adapter to keep the Jeep tranny like from advance, but I'm not sure if that is available for a 72, I think that was one of the last years for the Buick bolt pattern tranny. The slickest way I've seen to do it is to get a Chev TH400 to go with the small block. The two tranny's are the same except for bolt pattern and output shaft. You take the output shaft out of the Jeep tranny and put it in the Chev tranny, then you can use your original driveline. Basicly you have a TH400 that is chev up front and Jeep out back. Motor mounts for the swap are available and not too expensive because of this being a fairly common swap on pre 80 wags and cheros. Ther is lots of info that is more knowledgable than me on here in topic of the month, or do a search using 350 or engine swap. One thing I like about this swap is that you can buy a new 350 and have the tranny rebuilt cheaper than a decent rebuilt 360.

Thanks!!!! Porchpiggy, I think that is the route I will go. You are right on advance, no adapter for the 72 t400. Thanks again!!
