Just a couple of qustions concerning rims on a '84 GW.

1- What's the width of the stock '84 GW wheel?

2- Will the Chevy 6 bolt rim fit the '84 GW and is the back spacing the same on the Chevy as compared to the GW?

3- Are there any other rims from other oem's that will fit?

4- Has anyone sucessfully mounted a 33 X 12.5 on a stock wheel and used the setup?

Thanks!

ummm... let see....

1. Not sure, but I believe it's 7"

2. Yes, a 6 bolt pattern rim will work from a Ch*vy or a Toy*ta... I believe backspacing is 3.5"

3. Read #2...but backspacing may be an issue.

4. I dunno, but they will fit the rim... as for rubbing...hmmmm...are you lifted? if not the largest tires you can run without rubbing on an OEM rim is a 31x10.50 32's will rub for sure

a 31x10.5 seems to depend on the tire and the jeep, some manufatures are alittle closer than others to the rated size.ive seen a couple of reports of 31x10.5s,but theres no way that my 31x10.5 mud kings woulda fit my GW when i got it.32s will definately rub.a couple of manufatures make a 33x10.5(or is it 33x9.5?) you could prolly fit those on a stock wheel with 3-4 inches of lift, and maybe some moderate trimming, depending on your uses.

you can fit a 33x12.50 onto a 6 or 7 inch stock rim. i think my stock aluminum rims are 6 tho.however, wide tires on skinny rims cause alot of sidewall bulge, and on a stock offset skinny wheel you may have frame/leaf spring interferances.i used 32x11.5 on my stock aluminum wheels(im sure the sticker said 6 inces-i just went out to check, and its now unreadable) and the rear was fine, but the front rubbed the frame badly at full steering lock, and required the steering stops to be adjusted out quite a bit.i fit the tires with trimming,no lift.

hope this helps...
