I'm thinking of installing the sunroof I nabbed from my parts-truck; I cut out the roof-panel around the frame, so once I unscrew and remove the sunroof, I've got a ready-made template for the new cut.
I'd like advice for the sealing material to use when I reinstall this on my Cherokee. The frame crosses one of the stiffening beads in the roof, so there's a pretty big gap to cover. Here are the possibilities I'm considering:
* Foam-strip sealant
* Black strip-caulk
* Silicone from a tube
I know some of you have successfully installed sunroofs before, maybe even professionally, and I was wondering whether there was anything better available, or if not, which of the above options would be best. Silicone is my least-favorite option, because it can be so messy; but it would be effective at filling the voids.
Any suggestions or recommendations (besides "Let a Professional do it") are welcome.
