What gear ratio? I may have one that will fit, most likely, but is an open diff

I'm Not sure of the ratio, unfortunatly hav'nt been able to retrieve the rear-end as of yet. I have a 76 J20 with full floating rear-end and 16" tires, but not sure if compatable with Waggy or not, or if I need to do any modifications or not

I'm confused. What exactly do you mean by "ripped out the rear end and "havn't been able to retreive" ? I gotta know how this happened.

I was trail riding on Sat. and while crawling down the trail, i think its about a 60 degree incline. I started to slip sideways, while fighting to regain control, I felt something let loose in the back (rear axle bearing pulled out of the rearend) and from then on in was a hair-raising ride the other 150 feet to the bottom, somewhere in the process of sliding the rear-end snagged and ripped out.

and as for retrieving the rear-end, its on the other side of the trail, and nobody else has a truck that can get in there

I've got a D44 from an '88 GW with the 3.31 and limited-slip sitting in my driveway. Only thing is a pit in the seal surface that eventually causes gear-oil to seep out. If you can retrieve the driver's-side shaft, you can have this axle for a reasonable offer, and I could meet you in Springfield, MA to do the exchange.

Wow. All I can say is that I'm impressed. Where in Vermont was this? I spend a lot of time in Maine, but don't really know of any New England trails to check out. If you get desparate to find one, let me know and I'll see what I can do for you.
