View Full Version : rust holes in floor board
i have noticed that looking from underneath there are the start of a few rust holes. wha can be done to repair them that is a solid fix. can i have someone just weld sheet metal over them after they have been prepped and rust killed? i don't need to replce the floor boards. the holes are not very big. thanks

Cut out all the rust first. Then you can have sheet metal welded in place.
Pull the carpet or whatever floor covering you have and check it out real good. Clean, brush, etc.
Most of this floor board rust starts from the inside of these rigs, from the water that comes thru the vents on the side and bad door seals.
Mine looked ok from the bottom also, the inside was a different story.

POR15 has a floorboard repair kit that looks good for your application -

I haven't used it, but the POR15 products are well regarded. Lots of (possibly unneeded) stuff in the kit, but you could look at what's there and get just what you need.

Might want to check out Fusor for sealing the sheet metal to the floorboard. I hear it's better than welding.
It's a metal adhesive that is supposed to be as strong as a weld. Although I don't know where to buy the stuff it sounds interesting. Check it out.
