Dana/spicer 20 case linkage problems

My linkage on my 1970 went out. I am trying to remove it to rebuild it. I disconnected the two shift rods and took the two bolts off holding the linkage housing to the rod that comes out from the transfer case but the housing will not budge. Am I missing somthing? Is there some secret to getting it off or is this baby just rusted on?

If your linkage is bad, just replace the remote shifter portion. To remove and replace the rods, etc, you will have to disassemble the tcase.

That's my problem, I can't get the remote shifter portion off!!

Curt, Soak that area w/ penetrant and then if necessary apply heat on the outer part w/ a torch. That should get it off.
