popping noise?!?!?!

I have a 79 cherokee that is making a weird popping noise when i turn either way its really loud. can u give me some hints on wut it might be :confused:

look at the front spring eyes while somebody turns the wheel. I am betting the bushings are semi rotted letting the springs move back and forth inside the eye brackets.

either the spring clips are missing or the spring eye bushings are shot.its a non dangerous but alarming noise.

Parked on a POP Can? LOL. Spring bushings would be my bet

That's exactly what's wrong with both of my rigs, it won't come apart on you, but I'd change them anyway. The parts aren't too expensive, but the labor is a pain.

If the popping is rythmic and changes in speed with the speed of the truck, it would likely be a bad axle ujoint.
