For those of you who have put the MSD spark plug wire on, did you get the custom set or the universal? If the universal, did they come with the crimpers? I am talking about the 8.5mm sets.

Thanks,
Fred

I bought the custom MSD 8.5 wires and they fit perfectly.

Did you get them for the Ford 460, or the AMC 360?

i used the 8.5 unversals they came with the crimp tool and several sets of ends ( i.e.) hei boots and non electronic ends.. they work great...

I got the Universal set like un4gvn. It helps to have a bench vise to use with the crimper. They worked fine, and I just used the old wires for length. I made a couple of the new ones shorter than the stock wires, because I thought the stock was a little too long. Nice set of wires; works well with TFI setup.

By the way, when you install the MSD wires it's a good time to do the TFI upgrade if you haven't already. You'll use different ends for TFI vs. stock.

i run the custom ones makes the compartment look a bit cleaner, (not a bunch of extra wire laying around). the crimper that comes w/ the set is sort of crappy but a regular crimper (w/ handles) works great.

Thanks guys, think I will go with the universals, so I can make them whatever length I need. Now for my next question, where did you guys get yours? I was thinking about Summit, any better ideas?

Got mine at Summit. They had the best price that I could find at the time, which was about 3-4 months ago.
