Can anyone tell me how to fine tune a 1406? I went to the Edelbrock web page and it tells how to do this but, it doesn't say where the two screws are supposed to start. Does anybody know how to set the two mixture screws to factory specs? This Edelbrock 1406 is on a 1980 360. Just been rebuilt and has an RV cam in it. I hope some of this makes sense to sombody. Please help! I'm tired of my brand new engine not running right.

I usually run them both all the way in and back them out about 1 1/2 turns each and using a tachometer adjust them both equally which ever direction you need to achieve the highest rpm. That will get it running good if you really want to mess with it more sometimes you can get a better response out of it by turning them about a 1/2 turn either way and hitting the gas till you get what you are looking for....thats how I do it and it seems to work for me..

Ditto, 1 1/2 turns out is a usualy about right, a good place to start at least. I use a vacuum gauge to set mine.
