I was wondering if anyone out there had purchased headers for their buick 350. If you have, then how much did they cost, where did you get them, and did they fit with the rest of the jeep OK? TIA

Yes I am. I was going to ask the "350 list," but my e-mail only seems to work about 60% of the time.

Don't worry about it. I would ask here to as well as the 350 list. Its a engine that came in Jeep and I do not think everyone that runs a Buick or has run one in a Jeep is on that list anyhow. I would sure hate to see the Buick powered Jeep guys go wonder off to their own little world. Ya all got to stay here and make the AMC powered guys Jealous!!! LOL. As far as headers go I have not ever bought a set, I have had a couple parts Jeeps that I bought had headers on them, no idea what brand they were though.

Sorensen, TA Performance (http://www.taperformance.com/headers.htm) has some for the Buick powered cars, not sure they would fit, but who knows.
IMHO, you would be wasting your money, stay with a good functioning stock exhaust system (spent all day rebuilding mine) and spend your hard earned cash on something that will really help you like a rear locker or something.

Cool, Thanks for the info. If they do not give that much of a gain, I won't bother spending money on them (not that I had money to begin with)

You can pull off the stock manifolds and clean them up a little with a die grinder or have them done ant a shop. I agree with Tad the headers will add little to the Buick motor. Add a 4-barrel manifold and carb. It really picks up the motor. YOu can get one from TA Performance or find a stock on eBAy or the local junk yard. If you go for stock stay with the late 60's early 70's with out EGR and the other smog crap.
Hello again aheepofajeep.
I have read several posts about headers on this board and have to disagree with some. I have personally never seen any application, either top end(drag) or torque motor where headers did not increase performance. It may be very small, but still an increase. It depends on if the performance increase is worth the money to you. With good wraps or heat treatments under hood temps also should not be an issue. Yes they are expensive, again it is a personal thing if it is worth it to you.
Now the issue of availability. As you know, I too have a buick 350 truck. I have never seen a set of headers for buick 350 FSJs, especially since they had the buick 350 in these FSJs for such a short time. I had one guy say a company did make one at one time, but could not verify this. I personally don't think they ever existed, but could be wrong. You can get car headers, like for a skylark, but you must bend them up. They will go right into your transfer case and frame. T/A Performance does make and sell shorty headers in different diameters. The other option is custom, usually big $$$.
There is my $.02 about headers.
