I'll be putting on warn locking hubs this weekend. While I have things apart is there any other maintenance-type work I should be doing?

I just changed out my np219 for a 208. This seems to be the next step.

My 76 Chief came stock with Warn hubs. The first time I greased the wheel bearings, they never explained all the hidden circlips that hold on the hub since they are covered with grease. If you grease them, get a new oil seal for the hub. Check the brake pads and rotor. My brake shield had a broken weld that I had to get repaired.

Congrats on the 208. That was the best thing I've done to mine. The only thing I have to add is to put a little anti-sieze on the six allen bolts on the hubs(trust me on this one). With the directions, this should be a snap.

Loborph,
Check back in on Monday with an update on how your swap went! I was thinking of making the change to Warn lockers myself. Hope it doesn't take up your whole weekend!

geewhiz, while you're there, why not pull the spindles and chk bearings, may as well change all the bearings if you hadn't yet, will save from doing it later, will cost more, sure, but you'll have to take it all off again to do it later.
