I ordered my Rusty's lift on Friday and as has been suggested, I left out the shocks. After hearing everyone rave about the Edelbrock shocks, I figured these would be best. But they don't make a shock for 4" lift. So I did some research and on the Rancho site, they list stock shock for the 82-86 CJ as 99113. That's the same as is listed for my 88 GW. On Edelbrock's site they have a listing for an 82-86 CJ with 4" lift. Any ideas if this would.......Fit?...Work? Is weight difference maybe a problem? Any ideas on this subject would be greatly appreciated.

I think the weight difference would be a problem. I doubt the same shock would perform well on both a CJ AND a GW. I would give Edelbrock a call and talk to a tech person to make sure. I have Skyjacker Hydro 7000's on my '88 GW with a 2" lift, and I like them alot. My local Off-Road race shop says that the Edelbrocks & Skyjacker shocks are better for GW's because of the heavy weight of the vehicle. I got the skyjackers for a GREAT price from http://www.rockymountainsusp.com/

IMHO, that's a pretty method for cross-referencing parts. But if you go to Edelbrock's own site you'll note that the application for stock-height CJ's is different than for FSJ's.
Edelbrock's tech department is great with this kind of stuff, though you'll have to wait until Monday to get ahold of them. Don't be surprised if you have to wait a few weeks if the shocks you end up getting aren't one of their more common model numbers.
