What is the largest size tires you can fit on the J-10 without rubbing?
and no mods done.

I run 33X12.5 on 10" rims on the cherokee you see below and as far as I can tell there has been no lift to either the suspension or body. All the FSJ FAQs state that this tire is too big for stock WT but I have no rubbing. Haven't gone off road yet but a WT is probably heavier than j10 so I don't see why you couldn't run them. I'm sure others will chime in if they believe contrary.

Hey,
I run 33x12.5r15's on 8" rims on what appear to be stock springs. I can't swear that they are stock, but I have no reason not to believe that they are. The stock tire had a diameter of about 32", so the diameter is no issue, but the width could be the problem area. I have never had issues, but I also haven't had the truck seriously articulated. If I get it crossed up in a ditch or anything soon, I'll let you know if it rubs.

P.s. check out my jeep page in my sig to see a couple of closeup on the wheel wells with 33's

You can run 33 x 12.5 x 15 tires on a j10. The problem is that if you go offroad, and land a little agressively, you might dent the fenders. My wide trac had kinked fenders when I got it, most likely from hitting a bump too hard or landing after a jump or hill climb.
Go with the 32 x 11.5 x 15's

I have flexed my suspension as far as it goes :D and my 32x11.50 clear no problem. I was in the same dilema as you about 6 wks ago. Hmmmmm 33x9.5, 33x10.5 or 32x11.50. I went with the 32's little wider footprint, I knew they wouldn't rub and I managed to save about $125 on a special deal :D
My sig has a link to my page, the Tierra Del Sol page has pictures with new tires.

I'll snap one and put it up on my site, on the page for the J10 :D
Go get those tires, made a HUGE difference compared to my worn 31s that were on it.

thanks pj the picts help alot. I must have scrolled up and down 20 times or so to compare them to the old tires.
I picked up a nice pair of Yokahamma super diggers - 31 x 10.5 x 15 's in great shape for
$ 50 bucks at the junk yard and can always get 31 's in fair shape. for $25 - $30 a peice.5-6 junkyards are around the corner from where i work. so i stop in from time to time.
once in awhile i see crappy 33's.
can i ask what the going price was for those 32's?
and will they fit on my current rims? the stock steel wagon wheels? just painted them black to match the truck.
thanks again

They will certainly fit on the stock rims. The tires were $116 each at a Costco (Sam's Club for mid-west and maybe east coasters) a wharehouse store. The price though includes mount, balance, disposal, stem, lifetime balance and road hazard. The only additional cost was sales tax. They had a deal on a set of 4 tires ($50 off) with the exception of BFGs. Since the BFGs were about $15 a tire more and then the $50 savings on top of that, my decision was made.
Good luck, I wouldn't be too afraid of 33's, my 32s have room to spare. Narrow 33's shouldn't be a problem and even wide 33s on narrow rims may not have a problem, if you get a little rub, you can always throw in a small body lift :D
Good luck with you quest and post pictures when you close the deal.
