Hey RB. Its nice to see you are getting your rig closer to completion. I hope it will be on the road by mid March to make it to the Safari out at Salton City. Any way I made my hangers tonight and will weld them on when I can steal the time from the wife http://www.ifsja.org/ubb/smile.gif

Any way the reason for the note was when you lowered your hanger location what did you do about your drive line angle. Did you need to shim with the wedges or have you roaded it enough yet to tell about highway speeds.

http://www.ifsja.org/ubb/smile.gif Just to let you know I got my Performance tranny kit from hughes and the Atlass is due on the 20. Will let you know when I get it all installed. When is the next run planned? Later

AWESOME!!! Mike!!!! I can't wait to see the Atlas at work!!! http://www.ifsja.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

Either way... finished or not... I am trying to make plans to go to Slton city Safari. Either the 'Beast' in 2WD (won't have the front shaft by then) or the "FSJ Hauler" (hehe)

I did a lot of calculating on pinion angle prior to making my shackle inversion to get a 1 degree reading on the diff side which made my QT side angled at 19 degrees http://www.ifsja.org/ubb/eek.gif I knew when I did this I was going to have to spend more money on some rear shaft mods. It's a little short for my taste of and going back to my research data... single u-joint setups are supposed to run within 2-3 degrees of each other. Since I am at 19 and 1... I will most likey have to buy a CV- Type long travel shaft for about $275. The CV will take out any vibes I have there.

To answer your question... I believe I do have a slight vibe right now,but it's hard to tell with straight headers...exhaust still in't done either http://www.ifsja.org/ubb/mad.gif

I have had it on the road (up to 40mph) but I'm still breaking in the new 4.89 gears and Detroit locker VERY slowly.... kinda waiting to put my 39.5's on for good in January.

Keep me posted on the Atlas... http://www.ifsja.org/ubb/wink.gif

Did you make front hangars, too? Reason I asked.... the pinion, as you know, will go up dramatically if you don't and my need a reverse shim to bring it down as not to bind up under load. A good plus to the front hangars is no blocks needed and less axle wrap...did you have blocks??? I can't remeber....

Anyway... take care and keep me posted.... I will get those pics of the Trail Report this week and uploaded. Sorry for the delay again... http://www.ifsja.org/ubb/frown.gif

Hey RB,
About that Shackle conversion, U plan on making/selling that setup as a kit? I see it got U 5.5 inches, can it be made less, like 3 inches of lift? Looks awesome!!!

It's actually 7".... it compensates for the 7" gained from thge front SOA conversion with a Dana44.

I am thinking that I might make some more for others... but I need to TRULEY test the setup on the trail before I do... I have A LOT of time in the design and don't want to distribute something I haven't tested fully ... hope you understand that aspect of it.... http://www.ifsja.org/ubb/wink.gif

No it can't go any lower without a re-design and different mods

Hey Tod, I have came up with the same conclusion. I think I will keep the stock Diff angle put in a CV rear drive shaft.

I am going to weld mine on instead of bolting them on, Just my preference. I will keep you all posted omn the progress of the install. I got the call today it has arrived , just need payday to roll along sooner http://www.ifsja.org/ubb/smile.gif Later
