im buying an 88 gwag next tues. 500$. body is good. underside is near perfect. engine,is sick. the air filter is clogged with oil, so badly that it kills the engine. the engine, provenance unknown, was installed lessn 2 yrs ago. ive driven plenty of sick engines and know what blowby due to worn rings is. this is 10 times worse then anything ive ever seen. even engines with thrown rods dont make blowby like this. owner was told it was a bad valve train.im wondering, is this a clogged pcv? any body got any ideas? ill post more after i get the rig home and try to get it running. presnt plan is to swap in my engine/trans /tcase which is fine. btw, this sick mill has piqued my curiosity.

yeah, this was the sign of a rebuild for me. it could be a clogged pvc. but for me the rings were shot because the block was bored .065 and i had a lean condition that took a chunk out of the #1 piston. this previous motor was a piece of *^*&%#&%&%^*(&^#*& rebuild from a crappy company. i went with a local builder/ auto enthusiast on the last one. money well spent

burnt thru piston? well, i wont play too much with it. a comp test would reveal that.

I had a massive blow-by attack last year sometime. I found the #6 piston had a burnt through hole and the #4 exhaust spring was broken in two. I pulled the 710 cap off and revved the engine as soon as I pulled off the road and it looked like a steam train with all the smoke coming out.
