how do i remove all the emissions crap from my 87 jeep gw, there are parts missing and cracked hoses all over the place so im thinkin the best thing to do is just to go ahead and remove the thing,any tips on how to do this are much appreciated.

Haven't done it, but I think you can just unbolt the egr fitting from the back of the intake manifold, and bolt down a block off cover. Then just make sure all of your vacuum fittings are plugged. I'm sure someone that has done it will chime in.

I desmogged my 88 GW when I swapped in an edlebrock carb and non-EGR intake. Basicly I have removed everything and plugged the exhaust manifold holes with bolts.(where the air injection was) I run vac for power brakes and the vac ball to the manifold, and vac for the vac advance and PCV to the carb. My vapor canisterhas a broken valve, and I have not figured what to do with it yet.

If you remove the EGR you effectively lean the air/fuel mixture. This can lead to spark knock (AKA ping), depending on the engine. Pinging is not good for the engine, so it's a good idea to richen the mixture. On the 2150 carburetor this is done by changing the jets. Mine went from a size 55 jet to a 60 when I took of the EGR. Good luck,
