Okay, here's another one... I went to go put the tranny dipstick into the transmission today, and it seemed to go right in, but it was very loose and wobbled around. What's the proper way to install the dipstick? The little rubber o-ring looked pretty new, and I had to pull pretty hard to get it back out, but it isn't supposed to be wobbly when it's in, is it?!

it should have a bracket on the tube that bolts to the bellhousing or cyl head that is tack welded on the tube

I think you may need a bracket to hold it in place. You may have one in your garage they are often found burried under a bunch of JUNK!

Just remember to check the trans when warm and idleing in NEUTRAL.

my bracket had broken off the engine and had to be welded back on.
that is probably the cause of your tube wobble.
