got a couple things i want to get straight.

what is the rpm supposed to be in park? just running not having the fast idle engaged.

going up my driveway, slightly steep, if i gas it she will stumble and die. runs okay otherwise. is this most likely a float level that is too high?

i had a run on problem for a while. it is resolved now but possible damage could i be looking at because of it?

my chokes opens up correctly, but the fast idle never comes on? and when i try to adjust the choke for start up it it won't move. i undo the screws to move and it spins. i have manually closed and tried other things. but has yet to work. i did the the fast idle time correctly.
thanks

oh, i wanted the correct rpm in park not drive. i am trying to figure out if i need to mess with the idle mix screws or not.

Right; you can't set the idle speed or mixture accurately in Park; it has to be idling in Drive with some load on it. Put on the emergency brake, chock all four wheels, and adjust it to 600rpm in Drive.

i have already set the idle speed using the soleniod and then disconnecting it and adjusting the screw on the base of the carb. i was just curious to what the idle should be in park. i read a post on setting the idle mix with the two front screws. the correct place would be where the idle is the highest is what the post read. i was running to rich and i turned down the two mix screws a quarter turn. that stopped the fouling of the plugs. i had already changed the pv and checked the usual vaccum problems.
