Okay, my front bumper has been off for a few months now, and I have been debating whether or not to put on a cutsom bumper. The thing is, the original doesn't seem to be mounted very stoutly. How did you guys with custom bumpers mount it up? Did you just bolt it to the front crossmember? I need some ideas so when I build one, I have a ggod stout mounting system.

I have mine mounted to all the original holes. There are two on either side and then one on the front crossmember. It is on there beter than you would think. I am thinking about adding two more mounting point in the very middle of the bumper but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Did you use all the original mounting brackets or did you make beefier ones that just bolted to the same spots?

I used 1/4" strap bolted to the holes on the side of the frame, then some ears coming off bolted to the front holes, seems very strong. Ill try to post a pic of it today.

I made beefer mounting hardware out of 2 inch angle and some flat stock. I have some pics at home that I can send you when I get there if you like.

sweet! If you could do that, that would be great. I just want a stout mount so i can put recovery points on the bumper. Kinda like yours PC.. ;)
