View Full Version : Anyone run different backspacing from front to rear?

After asking and searching, I figure I have to go with 16" rims after the disk conv. But this will force me to do 4" bs front and back. Now the 14 bolt is about 1" longer per side, so the 44 front tires will be about 1" further inward. Is this very noticable? And I assume it dosent bother anything? Thanks, Dennis

dunno for sure. a lot of chevy trucks, and I think even fsj's have wider front axles than rears, this supposedly helps to improve turning radius. Not sure what the affect will be in your case.

Yes turning radius is sharper if the rear is narrower. So technically you could run a different back spacing in back and retain that if your rear axell is wider (most all 1 ton's and 3/4 tons have wider rears then front for towing and hauling)
