Does anyone know what year wagoneers had the same windshield? IE: would an '83 windshiled fit in my '82?
Also, with a buddy, and the "string trick," how is it really all that difficult to get the windshield in?
Just tryin to save a few bucks smile.gif
All are the same to the best of my knowledge, and

They're not tough at all; just use the exact size rope with LOTS and LOTS of lube. If you've seen it or done it before it's no problem. If you've never done it, be *VERY* careful. Cracks are common.
Simply applying light pressure as you pull the rope should (wiht enough lube) slip the windshield right in...in theory...happens every now and then...if you're lucky...it's a full moon in the third quarter and the Cleveland Browns win the SuperBowl... :D

haha, I've never done it. Only seen it. Was kinda rootin for the browns this year anyway... :D
My plan was to be extremely careful, maybe backing out and doing it over several times, if need be.
Heh, would kinda suck to try to save $100 and wind up spending $100 more after breaking 2 windshields. But at least I could say I did it myself :D

lol
I could get one from my local windshield place for $200, but if I can get it in for $100 less I'll be a happy guy.

Edit: Just like that.

Glass for my 74 Chero is $274 last time I checked, which was some time ago. Did the price go down?!?!
I think it's a geographic thing. When I checked on FSJ prices a couple months ago(while my XJ windshield was getting replaced) it was $200 installed at my house.

The actual price was $230-260. Somewhere in there. After I heard the "2" I pretty much stopped paying attention.

Wow, here in Atlanta I can get a new one + installation for $165. They'll even come over to my house and change it, and a three year replacement warranty to boot...
