How hard would it be to put the shoulder seat belts out of a later Wag into mine? The only thing mine has are lap seat belts, my wife doesn't like to ride in it cause she says she doesn't feel safe without shoulder belts.
I ask her, how did we ever servive up until the mid 70's when no one even used seat belts, but that doesn't count.
How do you attach the belts up by the head liner? and how far back do you put them?
Seems like some fabricating will need to be done. Any idea's on the subject will be appreciated, maybe someone else has already done this. Thanks

I would also like to put them in the rear of mine; I have seen one install that had them going in somewhere in the headliner, but I'm not sure how strong that would be as i don't know what they would bolt to.

Joe's 89, if you go back through the posts fro about a month ago, I remember there was a posts telling how to go about doing the back seat belts and it told exactly where to hook them up, as I remember, but look through and you will see them. About page 10 and go back from there.

Joe - I am currently doing the project you're speaking of. On your '89 there is a nut already welded for the shoulder harness. I have some pics that someone already sent me. I just picked up some nice belts out of a '91 for $50. The tricky part will be mounting the return on the wheel well. I'll let you know how it goes. Send me your email and I'll forward the pics.

Marvin - I'm not much help because I'm not to familiar with the earlier Wags. I would imagine the tricky part for you would be mounting the shoulder harness on the door post. Good luck :D

Carfax also had a service bulletin number from the dealer regarding this and a retro kit, on I think 89 and up GW's. It's been a while since I looked but I think my info is mostly correct
