Can I swap a 79WT axles T18/D20 into a 77 NT TH400/QT?

just for clarification,you want to take axles from a rig that was a 79 with a t18/d20 and swap them into your 77,wich has a th400/QT
or,do you mean swap the whole drivetrain,t18 and all?

Yes I would like to swap the 79 Drivetrain into the 77. The 79 is rusted and beat plus I can't get a clear title for it so I'm going to swap everything over into the 77 since it has a clear title and minimal rust

Sorry to Clarify I would like to do this swap into a 75.

the swap is very doable, the axles will fit right in. You will now use the rear x-member to hold up the tranny/tcase. Use the matching driveshafts. Of course the Auto to manual conversion will be a bit of work but not bad either. Nice project.

I won't be using either engine. I'm going to drop a 6.5 L Diesel or 4BT Diesel. I can get the adapter for the 6.5. Don't know about the 4BT but I think Diesel Depot has them. I would like to do some rustproofing also while I have everything apart.
