I'm just curious if the motor mounts for CJ's are the same as those for FSJ's with the 6-cylinder.

Also, anyone have an opinion regarding polyurethane versus rubber motor mounts?

I generally prefer rubber mounts and bushings where comfort is concerned (e.g., leaf springs, body mounts) and polyurethane where control is an issue (e.g., sway bar and endlinks).

No, CJ mounts are different, frames are a lot narrower than the FSJs.

As for mounts I used rubber for the motor and tranny and have poly in all my suspension. This is all in my YJ. It rides a bit rough but it's not too bad.

motor brackets are different, but the rubber mount is the same. the cj uses the same rubber mount, but inverted smile.gif i have used cj mounts om my GW

i ran rubber mounts for awhile, and got tired of replacing them. i now run home made solid mounts. id definately run the "bombproof" poly mounts before id go back to rubber ifn i wasnt happy with my solid ones.

you can get poly motor mounts from 4wd hardware, and prolly lots of other places as well. just buy em for the cj.

adding a chain on each side of the engine will greatly increase the life of the mount, especially if you run stock rubber.
