What is the torque spec for the nuts that mount the brake caliper bracket and the spindle to the steering knuckle. This is on an '82 J10, but I'm sure they would be the same for most trucks with the Dana 44 front axle. My book tells me 77 ft/lbs, but they are only 3/8 UNF studs and this seems to high. Anybody have this spec?
Thanks
Shane

You're looking at the Haynes manual, right? I felt the same way about that figure, which is usually used for 7/16" bolts.
Yeah, that's too high; the M.R.253 calls for 35ft/lbs, IIRC. I can check when I get home tonight.

Just thought I would reply to this to see if it will get more attention at the top of the board! Sorry 'bout that but, I feel this is an important area and I have gone as far as I can. Tomorow I will put it all back together and once the hubs are on I cant get at those nuts.
Any input would be apreciated, Thanks to All!
