I have an edelbrock intake manifold and was thinking of getting rid or the egr valve. Where can I get a blocking plate to cover the hole?

I have never seen on for AMC engines sold anywehere, but that doesn't mean they are not available. I just used the EGR valve as a patern and traced in on to cardboard and then cut one out of 22 gauge sheet metal, and sealed with a gasket and Permatex. I was only doing it as a temporary fix until I could find a correct one. But if you wanted a permenant fix just use a heavier sheet metal or plate steel. It is a simple shape and if you have a saw, drill, grinder, and a couple of files it should be no problem.

Just leave the EGR in place but don't hook up the vacuum line.

However. The EGR does not effect performance, only works during cruise condition and cools the combustion temps to reduce NOX and detonation.

The squarebore I have had one on it. I can give you measurements as I have it here on the floor, or take pics.

No worries here, the the EGR foot print is exactly
the same as Chevy, not close, but the exact same
gasket ..

So go buy a Chevy one.

Why not leave the EGR valve on? Doesn't hurt and might even help.

Hopefully, they are not made of 22 guage sheet
metal ! smile.gif .

This one should be a non-issue due to chev small
blocks (And others) using the same pattern.

Now if you need a AMC fuel pump block talk to
