I like it also. Is it going around the factory hitch or did you make one into it.
Looks fine and tucked in nice and close. I like the reciever in the center too.
I see you have 4" of lift and 31's.
How far off the ground does the lower tube sit?

seal that baby up and use it for an air tank!

the hitch is the center section of a universal class 3 hitch i got about 5 years ago. 90 bux with an adjustable ball carrier and both size balls. (dont touch that line.)
theres 18-1/2" under the lower tube. but... with 4 bolts removed the lower tube comes off, giving 22-1/4" to the bottom of the receiver.
how about seal that baby up and use it for a gas tank?!?!? much more important. can you say "PINTO"?
i still have to make some end caps for the tubes, make a "curtain" to attach to the rear lip of the body that hangs down forward of the bumper, mount my HF antenna, and move the oem foglights so they shine out from between the tubes as back-up lights.

lol... 120 PSI is NOT gonna make a pinto fireworks show out of it... the steel is too strong.... seriously, it is safe!
Hey spruce, were you in Chesapeake recently? or the surrounding area? I think I remember seeing you around. Or maybe it was someone else with a similar plate that i'm thinking of.

ajj: i was thinking more along the lines of having several gallons of gas being the first thing to get hit. but it would take a lot of effort to bust those pipes!
cory: nope, it wasnt me. never get out that way. sorry!

get some crossbracing in between the lower tube and upper tube. 4 bolts will just shear right off if you drag it over a rock. and 4 bolts wont help much if you get rearended. The more time you put into it, the stronger it will be. 4 inches of added clearance doesnt do much for an fsj since they overhang so much, looks pretty good though.

(in tiny droplets, etc. from the humidity in the air) In a bumper, you can install a drain or something...in a cage, I tend to think it would attack your welds ASAP and that you would find your cage failing at the most inopportune of times....souunds like a bad idea to me....air tanks have protective linings on the interior to prevent rust

woods wagon: i see what you mean about the lower tube being a little fragile. i just cut two pieces of 2.5" angle aluminum to go under the lower tube brackets. the angles will be bolted to the brackets and to the tube as well. that will give the tube some resistance to being pushed into the back of the waggy, and also a little more uumph will be needed to tear it off with a snag. also, the current plan for end caps is a piece on each end that will span both tubes. sort of an end plate in an oval shape. that will tie the two tubes together, and give me a good place to mount the HF antenna!
