Selec-Trac 229 Transfer Case

I have an 85 GW and I was looking at the transfer case and saw a hose coming out of the top of it, it is cut and does not go anywhere, I was wondering if anyone knows where this goes. If you could help me I'd appreciate it.

If it's coming off the top back end of the tcase it's a vent hose. Not sure where it was routed originally but it needs to be routed high up so water doesn't get into it. I would route it up in the engine bay and mount it up against the firewall or similar place. I'd also stick a little VW fuel filter in the end to keep water out or mount it and then bend the end down in a curve and secure the end.
