Does the steering wheel or/and the column need to be removed/disassembled to get to the ignition switch?? Hanes manual is kinda vauge there.

If its like a CJ only pull the steering wheel, need to get a steering wheel plate compressor thingy or its kinda hard to get the snap ring out.

NOpe...the ignition switch is on or near the base of the column where it enters the firewall...look for a flat harmonica-looking thingamajig on the right side of the column.

Dropping the column down makes the job a bit easier...it's 4 bolts if I remember right. Straight forward from there on.

Confirmed.
The column does Not need to be removed, but it helps a bit.
