Maybe a little help since I can't seem to fix it. My J-4000 is having accelerator problems. When it is fully warm it is Idleing high. If you pump the accelerator it "might" idle down. However, once on the street and you go to shift it "sticks" and once the clutch is pushed in it reves high. This is a B**ch to drive and not to mention it is buring up the clutch etc. Do you have any Ideas? THanks.

It's probably the fast-idle cam on the carburetor. Take the air cleaner off and check out the linkages. Check for the choke opening all the way up after the engine's been warmed. Try spraying some lube around the idle cam area.

This has happened to others here before. STICKING ACCELERATOR CABLE! The cable frays inside of the housing and causes it to stick. Happened to me on the interstate at 70 MPH when the traffic ahead of me came to an abrupt stop due to a deer in the road. Thank God for the shoulder. I let off the gas and it didn't slow- had to swerve onto the shoulder and shut the truck off.
