Hey all!!!!!!!

This past summer my uncle who is a master mechanic, was putting together a 383 stroker on a 78 4 bolt main 350. after everything was done, my uncle was still deciding what to do with it. originally, he wanted to put it in his camaro, but he is having second thoughts.( I hope) And he is pretty taken by my FSJ. I was wondering, would the motor bolt up to my 74 turbo 400?
thanks...

The bolt patterns are different. At least to the best of my knowledge. AA may make an adaptor though. The experts will chime in soon enough on this.

Yes they do make an adapter to bolt up a Chevy 350 to the GM TurboHydromatic 400 found in our Jeeps. The only draw back is, Advanced Adapters wanted around $400+ for the thing. Personaly,I would keep the 401 and rebuild that. Its the "in" thing to mutilate a Jeep by dropping in a Chevy motor these days.(sorry I did not mean to offend anyone with a Chevy 350 in their Jeep)

It would be cheaper and easier to find a TH400 with a chebby bellhousing, swap the tail shaft if need be and bolt it up that way.

I personally plan on staying with the AMC motor, but I've driven a '71 Cheby 2 wd pickyup with a short rod 383 w/Edelbrock Torker II intake and cam combo and let me tell you that thing was fun to drive!!
