Fluids used in TCase&Diffs?

...for my '83. I have a transplanted NP208. Factory Service Manual states Dextron II. What do y'all suggest?

I built my 208 and Ive been just using Dextron/ATF works fine for me but since I have no leaks and all is working well.. next time I change it I will probably switch to one of the fancy dancy high tech tranny fluids.. since its only 3 quarts. wont cost all that much..

But Dextron/ATF is just fine.

I transplanted a 207 into mine. It has Dexron in it, but is that what it is supposed to have?

The reason I ask is that the DSPO filled the 229 with gear oil. I didn't find that out until it practically exploded!

xfr case gets atf, axles get gear lube.
